DrupalCon Training: Security: Process, Code, and Hands-On Training

Whether your Drupal site is for a small-business, a government organization, e-commerce, or health-care data, it is always important to maintain your online security. Being vulnerable to defacement, data breech, theft of your resources or loss of customer data can easily ruin the reputation and business of a company. Then this pre-conference training session on March 19 is the place to be to keep this from happening to you.

While Drupal is generally well respected as a secure system, there are mistakes you can make in building your site, choosing modules, and writing a custom theme that can easily introduce vulnerabilities. Understanding how to build secure web sites can make a huge difference not only for the integrity of your sites, but for the confidence of your clients, as well.

There is no better way to tackle the security beast than with the help of Acquia’s experts Greg Knaddison and Erik Webb - members of Acquia's Professional Services team.

More specifically, the course will cover:

  • How to think like a hacker - and how this is the key to a safe site
  • Defense against automated attacks
  • What Cross Site Request Forgeries are and how to prevent them
  • Methods to block Cross Site Scripting - the biggest problem in Drupal
  • How Drupal's Database API makes it easy to prevent SQL Injection

You will also have the opportunity to complete a hands-on site review to identify the vulnerabilities you may be facing.

Keep in mind that this course is held on Monday, March 19, 2012 - the day before the conference begins. You won’t miss any valuable conference events by signing up for pre-conference training sessions like this one.
