Building Social Networks with Drupal
Over the last year or so i have been helping out with the User Relationships module and it seems many (most?) of our feature requests are features found on Twitter, Facebook, or one of the other large social networks.
I'd like to bring together the people that are building social networks and those that are helping build these tools to try and get an idea of what is possible and how we can make Drupal perform better in this area.
Some possible questions to discuss:
Does it rmake sense to compete feature for feature with Facebook and Google's massive engineering teams or should we prioritize?
What type of projects require their own internal solution instead of integrating with an external service and how do we help these projects?

I'll probably stop by after "The Future of Drupal Governance" (Core Convo). I suppose it's too late to change it but pairing this with forums at lunch would have been nice. :)
