Scholarships, Sprints and Session Selections, oh my!

Whew, this has been a busy week for the DrupalCon Denver team! First things first, the deadline to apply for scholarships for the conference is today -- anyone who has not yet applied can visit our scholarship page and apply before November 18, 2011 midnight Mountain Time.

Sprints, Glorious Sprints

Sprint leads - it's your time to shine. Applicants should be ready to describe in detail the goal (what you plan to improve) and desired outcome (what will be accomplished during the sprint), and have a group of at least 3 sprinters together at the time of application. Sprints can take place at anytime during the conference; they need not happen only on the Friday following the scheduled sessions. Preference is given to sprints that plan for a full day's amount of work, even if it's spread out over several days. Preference is also given to sprints that align with the conference theme or the following categories:

  • Documentation
  • Drupal.org improvements
  • Drupal Core (Drupal 8 Initiatives or Drupal 7 bug fixes)
  • Top contrib projects or community improvements

Applications have already started to roll in. You can apply online as a Sprint Lead, and to support sprints we're offering a limited number of free attendance tickets. Sprint Lead selections will be announced in January.

80% of Session Selections Announced

With the help of our DrupalCon Denver volunteers, a list of sessions and speakers that have been officially selected to date is now available online. This is an exciting preview of what is in store for next March, see what the buzz is all about on our Sessions List page. Remember: the remaining sessions still left to be selected will be posting in a preliminary schedule website on December 7, 2011 and a final schedule on January 25, 2012.
