To Rule Them All : An introduction to Rules and Taxes in Drupal Commerce
Drupal Commerce takes advantage of the powerful Drupal 7 Rules framework to provide a wide range of flexibility in managing taxes, discounts and special offers. All without needed to write a line of code...
In this hands-on session we'll focus on using Rules to solve simple to complex tax use cases. We will cover:
- An overview of the powerful Rules module
- Drupal Commerce's built-in support for US-style Sales Tax as well as European style VAT, and the key differences in display as well as in calculation.
- How to configure tax rates
- How to use Rules to manage taxes for multiple tax rates (book tax versus food tax, etc)
- How to manage multiple-jurisdiction taxes
- Different use cases from around the world based on our experience addressing these challenges.
This presentation is for site builders, developers and project owners who are working on ecommerce websites - particularly those who will be working on a wide range of online commerce solutions and are looking for a wide range of use-case feedback.

Comments
Commerce is a module I'm sure I'll have a need for ...
I still haven't used Commerce, but I'm sure that that will change, soon enough, and dealing with the tricky use case scenarios described above is more than likely to be involved in any project I'll be developing.
I definitely want to attend this session.
