BoF FAQ

"Birds of a Feather" (BoF) sessions are openly scheduled, topical discussion-based sessions at DrupalCon. Unlike the regular sessions (including Core Conversations and sessions on the Day Stage), BoFs are open to be submitted and scheduled by any DrupalCon attendee.

BoFs allow ad-hoc groups to meet and discuss issues that may have a more narrow interest than regular conference sessions, or get together as a group of like-minded individuals to talk about common problems.

BoF Guidelines

  • Rooms are shared, you don't have the room to yourself
  • Respect others and don't flood the BoFs with too many of the same topics
  • More general is better than too specific
  • If it's related to another session, be sure to notify the session speaker to plug the BoF at the end of the session (if the BoF comes later)
  • Don't abuse the system

Rooms

Two BoFs to a room except rooms 501 and 502.

Rooms 206 through 212 and 501 through 507 are available for BoF use Tuesday through Thursday during the main conference hours. Rooms 206-212 are in banquet table setup and hold 50 people. Rooms 501 through 507 are also in banquet setup but hold 80 people. Please note, only room 502 has A/V capabilities. No other room besides 502 has A/V setup.

Roughly half of the rooms are available for BoF scheduling starting March 5th. The other half will be available starting March 19th.

Times

BoFs may be scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday during keynote, regular session, and lunch times.
